  1. Snacking throughout the day and regularly consuming of sugary, acidic food can cause tooth decay
  2. Eating sticky sweets after dinner because they may increase bacterial activity while you sleep
  3. Drinking sugary tea and coffee regularly can make teeth are more prone to decay because of added sugar content
  4. Sipping soda or carbonated drinks causes acid attacks on enamel – in addition to the decay causing sugars
  5. Repeated binge eating (consuming large amount of food very quickly), impulsive gorging, continuous eating can also cause acid attacks on enamel
  6. Eating disorder like anorexia and bulimia cause havoc on teeth, muscles, major organs and the entire body

  1. Rinse your mouth with water after every meal
  2. Try not to snack between the meals, giving yourself 2-3 hours gap between meals so acid level in your mouth comes down and gives a chance for saliva to counteract effect of acid and repair enamel
  3. If you do need a snack, make it raw foods,  like fresh fruits and raw vegetables
  4. Avoid sticky foods after meals
  5. Use a new toothbrush every three months or when the bristles break or bend
  6. Brush your teeth twice daily
  7. Clean between teeth with floss to remove plaque once a day
