Worry Free Dentistry, nitrous oxide, oral sedation dentistryAt Comfort Dental, Anxiety is a Thing of the Past

Our goal is that you have a great dental experience and incredible care.

For many this means overcoming dental anxiety – which can be a real barrier to getting needed dental treatment.

Great News: The days of dental worry are over!
.
.

Here are the great options Comfort Dental can provide you:

.
ORAL SEDATION
This conscious sedation option can help keep you calm even hours before your dental visit. After assessing your needs and situation, we may prescribe a pill for you to take orally either the night before or an hour previous to your appointment.

By the time you arrive for your dental visit, you should feel relaxed and stress-free. Because grogginess can occur, you should have someone drive you to and from your appointment.
.

NITROUS OXIDE, Sometimes Called “Laughing Gas”

Oral sedation, nitrous oxideThis option is a wonderful one to help patients overcome their dental anxiety. Nitrous Oxide is a colorless, odorless gas that is mixed with oxygen and provides a relaxing, calming effect.

Rather than a medication taken prior to the dental visit, nitrous oxide is administered during the dental procedure.

How Nitrous Oxide Works

  • After reviewing your health history, your dentist will determine if it’s right for you.
  • Then we place a small mask over your nose and you simply breathing normally. After only a few minutes  you will notice the calming effects.
  • Commonly our patients describe the feeling as being relaxed, unconcerned, and slightly numb or disconnected from what’s happening around them.
  • We adjust the dosage of the nitrous oxide gas to fit your needs –  and you can also control it with your breathing. The more deeply you breathe through your nose the more you’ll feel its effect.

.
Nitrous Oxide Effects Wear Off Quickly
Another benefit of nitrous oxide is the effect wears off quickly, making it safe for you to drive after your dental appointment.
.

For those with dental anxiety, Comfort Dental is pleased to offer both oral sedation options, as well as nitrous oxide, as safe and effective ways to help you relax during your dental appointment.

If you have been putting off getting the dental care you need, you no longer need to let dental anxiety stand in your way. If you have more questions about the options described above, please feel free to Ask the Dentists. We are here to help and hope to see you soon!
